WINE IN THE KITCHEN: Dining with wine

Sunday, March 4, 17:30 h

Chef: Carmelo Bosque (Huesca)
Specialist: Bartolomé Sánchez

Description:
From breakfast to dinner – not to forget el tapeo (time for traditional tapas snacks), lunch and an apéritif. A different wine for each moment of the day. Carmelo Bosque will be on hand at Barcelona Degusta’s Ágoras del Gusto to spread the word on wine culture and how it relates to cuisine.
Bartolomé Sánchez, an expert on wine, will provide a brief and brilliant introduction prior to the chef’s performance.

Carmelo Bosque began his professional career in a restaurant specialising in toast. One day, "strolling through San Sebastián’s old quarter" he discovered the Bodegón de Alejandro and, with it, his love of gastronomy. Shortly thereafter, he took the helm at the restaurant Navas de Huesca, where it won the Alto Aragón region’s very first Michelin star. He currently runs his own establishment, La Taberna de Lillas Pastias, located in the building most emblematic of Huesca’s modernist style and which has its own Michelin star.
Bartolomé Sánchez is a professional sommelier. He is an officially recognised oenologist in the Region of Madrid and holds the title for Spain’s Best Sommelier 1988. He has written a number of guidebooks on the world of wine – both domestic and international – such as El Arte del Buen Catador and Los 350 mejores vinos de España 1996. A member of the tasting committee for the Regulatory Boards of Designations of Origin Vinos de Madrid, Méntrida and Mondéjar, he has contributed to magazines like Spain Gourmetour, published in four languages, or the Italian publication Show Food. His work as a journalist won him the Andreu Parra 2001 Award from the magazine Viandar. Today he is deputy manager of the magazine Mivino and Tastings Director at the Spanish edition of the magazine Vinum, which works in conjunction with the Swiss Vinum.
