Talking about gastronomy is great fun for people who love food. That’s why Barcelona Degusta has set up its Taste Agora section for visitors, a place where large culinary shows will be staged for as many as 450 participants

This year the Ágoras del Gusto have drawn their inspiration from Simone Ortega, the post-Franco political transition period’s main proponent of all things culinary who, through her recipes and emblematic book 1,080 recetas de cocina (1,080 Recipes), has taught three generations of Spaniards to cook. We have chosen to pay Ortega a well-deserved tribute.

These culinary shows will revolve around ‘Foods from Spain’ and enjoy support from the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food. The programme will be enhanced with two events based on current issues: ‘Functional Foods’ and ‘Cuisine, Today and Tomorrow’.
